A Vision for the Future
Imagine a future where robots are as ubiquitous as smart phones, and they don’t replace people, they make our lives easier and safer. It’s a dream we’ve had for a long time, but when we look around all we see are Roombas.
Most robots on the market today are industrial, designed for business, or designed for entertainment. Only a fraction are consumer level service robots, and of those most are smart vacuum cleaners. There are millions of other tasks in homes, small businesses, and daily life that could be automated with robotics.
But development is expensive, innovation is slow, and consumers aren’t engaged, because the industry is still building robots siloed into proprietary ecosystems, and the learning curve for open source applications is too high.
The Foltrain Robotics Company is solving this by building a whole new category of consumer level service robots, from the ground up, built around the compatible Foltrain AI Robotics Module.
This is the “build it and they will come” story everyone warns you about, but there’s money to be made here. There’s also a better world.
